Meditation To Relieve Anxiety

Is anxiety real and alive with you, and in you? Are you wondering if meditation to relieve anxiety would really give you any relief from anxiety and anxiety attacks?

Well, the answer is yes, meditation can give you relief because when practiced on a regular basis it will allow you a way to relax, calm your innermost self, hear your "thoughts" or mind chatter, and teach you how to gently dismiss the thoughts that are causing you to be anxious.

Is Meditation immediate relief for anxiety, I can hear you asking?

Absolutely not! But it is a permanent solution to many of life's emotional, mental, and physical problems.

Today's society continues to get faster, more crowded, more competitive, and noisier, as levels of stress, anxiety, and disease grow exponentially.

If you stop to really look at our world; how fast and noisy it is, you will understand quickly why we are so unhealthy emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

The practice, or discipline of meditation gives you a way to take your entire being out of the rat race for a few minutes each day.

In this short time you give your "self" a time to rest very deeply, and this includes your mind, where anxiety originates.

Meditation to relieve anxiety, can be taught by masters, or you can simply read a little about it and become self taught.

It is a very private endeavor, and you will find that for those who want it, there is no end to how far you can go in your meditation exercises.

Meditation can be very simple, or you can spend your entire life learning new techniques, perhaps going to seminars and sitting with masters.

Meditation begins with learning to focus all of your attention on a single object, something, or maybe an idea, or thought.

In the process of doing this you come face to face with words, thoughts, memories, and projections into the future, that you probably had no idea was constantly going around in your head.

Each time you bring your focus to your intention, you find yourself off in another thought, and must bring your attention back again, and again, and again.

It is in this that you learn to not only hear what your mind is chattering about, but more importantly you learn that the thoughts are yours, the same as a piece of bread.

You can choose to have it, or discard it, but it is your decision! With thoughts, you must train yourself to have this choice.

Since anxiety originates in your mind with thoughts, and fears, the mind is the place to go for healing.

Meditation slows you down and allows you a few minutes to get to know yourself, and to rest, which allows you to de-stress. And if stress isn't the cause of your anxiety, it certainly turns it on for you.

No, it's not like giving yourself and your mind over to drugs and fast relief, but meditation to relieve anxiety will slowly change you, and those around you, forever.

The Third Eye Chakra - Healing & Balancing the Brow Chakra

The third eye - or brow - chakra is located in the forehead area between the eyes. In this article we'll take a look at some of the main characteristics of this chakra, as well as what you can do if it should get out of balance.

What Is The Third Eye Chakra?

Chakras are vortices of energy which are located in the etheric or subtle body. The chakras play an important role in transmuting energy from the wider universe into a form that our minds and bodies can use, as well as keeping our personal energetic systems in balance. There are seven main chakras, of which the third eye is the sixth. In traditional Sanskrit terminology, it is also called 'Ajna' chakra.

Characteristics Of the Brow Chakra

Each chakra is linked with a particular colour, and in this case it is the colour indigo. The brow chakra is strongly associated with the intuition, and when it is in good balance, you will benefit from a clear flow of inner wisdom and insight. It is also linked with the health of the head area, including the eyes, ears and nose.

Keeping The Sixth Chakra In Balance

The chakras can become imbalanced as a result of various factors, including the stressful lifestyles that so many people lead nowadays. Such imbalances can manifest in a variety of ways, and in the case of the third eye chakra, you may experience symptoms such as problems with the head, eyes, ears etc, as well as a sense of confusion, mental preoccupation and learning problems.

As with the other chakras, the use of crystals can be beneficial in restoring balance. For the brow chakra, the use of blue colour gemstones such as sodalite or lapis lazuli may be helpful.

In addition, meditation is among the most powerful ways of rebalancing the sixth chakra, especially if you use a brainwave entrainment recording that is designed for the purpose. In case you're not familiar with it, brainwave entrainment basically involves listening to sounds of specific frequencies, with the frequencies in question depending on what the recording is designed to achieve.

A brainwave recording that's intended for chakra work should contain frequencies that are associated with the healthy functioning of the chakras in question. Via exposure to such a recording, the chakras can naturally realign with relatively little effort on your part. This is great for people who aren't trained meditators, and who may find traditional guided meditation techniques difficult to stay focused on.

Meditation in Color - How to Use Colors to Influence and Intensify Your Meditations

Using colors to help influence and intensify your meditations is highly recommended. Colors are very important to our moods and this can be used as a means to improve the overall outcome of your meditation practices. Colors carry energies which can be used to sharpen your focus in or on a particular matter.

The fact that color can increase our awareness subconsciously is downright amazing and not much of a secret. Its pretty widely known that certain colors can spawn specific emotions or ideas. People also use colors as a means of targeting decorative themes. This is exactly what you can do to amp up and increase the power of your meditations.

One thing you should be aware of is that there will be many conflicting opinions as to what certain colors bring out and represent. The best way to verify the true meaning of color by what moods it can bring out is by staying away from the New Age or Psychic realm.

This may sound a bit contradictory or even a little bias but I am just being honest. Many of the suggestions you will get will be very confusing due to the differences of opinion and specialty.

However, there is another reason which makes even more sense. Depending on the scale in which you would be working the meaning of the colors would change. For instance The king scale or the queen scale of colors are completely different. It just gets too confusing if your not deeply involved in the new age culture. So what I recommend is getting your information from an Interior designer.

Here is a very basic list in which to work with when using color in your meditations:

White - Is of course Holy, Purity, light, divinity, and enlightenment of the highest order.

Black - Is about confidence, protection, absorption of negativity, maturity in wisdom.

Gray - Brings balance, reliability, stability, and neutrality.

Red - Love of course! Enthusiasm, respect, energy, warmth, motivation, and strength.

Blue - Water, healing, meditation, tranquility, Loyalty to friends and sincerity of purpose.

Orange - Thoughtfulness, attraction, vitality, thoughts.

Purple - Is primarily a color of Royalty, leadership, status, power, leadership, and wisdom.

Green - Growth, earth, grounding, health, money, hope, and fertility.

Brown - Earth again, roots, honesty, dependability, friendship, simplicity, and again grounding.

Violet - Truth, memory, humility, intuition and comfort during grief or mourning.

Gold - Masculine, enlightenment, and sturdiness.

Silver - Femininity, Intuition, and flexibility.

When it comes to colors and spirituality it gets wildly complex and critically complicated. There are a number of variations on what color can incite what mood. However, everyone is unique and therefor the outcomes may be different. What I would suggest is to do a meditation that is completely designed to observe what colors affect you in what way.

Keep your mind as free and open as you can and then concentrate on each color separately. You can take on each color in a meditation individually. Allow the color to completely dominate or control your thoughts. Pay special attention the initial feelings you get from each color. Then keep a journal next to you and as soon as it is over write down your overall experiences with them.

The best advice that I know to give here is be honest with yourself and most importantly Have Fun! This is a way of exploring your inner self and learning more about who you are deep inside. There are not any right or wrong answers or outcomes and this can be very soothing to practice.

Stress Relaxation Techniques - Bring About the Changes You Need With Self Healing Meditation!

In modern times we have to cope with increasing levels of stress. Work, family and financial pressures can lead to a build up of stress levels in even the seemingly calmest of individuals. Self healing meditation is a primary way to handle such stress. Self healing gives you the ability to make your mind and soul able to handle stressful situations.

Self healing meditation can be of benefit if you have, or are recovering from, stress, depression or any other kind of similar condition. Both self motivation and positive thinking play key roles. The deep meditative state you experience can help in improving your overall health, including your immune system.

Your mind and physical body are inextricably linked. Therefore, negative thoughts and feelings create negative physical effects on your body. Conversely, as simple as it may sound, positive thoughts impact your physical body in a positive way. Self healing meditation teaches you to focus on positive thoughts to create the overall positive effect on your body. Such feelings of positivity can be enormously difficult to attain in your conscious mind, especially when you are already experiencing stress or depressive tendencies. Meditation, however, is the way to access positive feelings through your subconscious mind.

During times of anxiety, harmful hormones are produced that impact your physical body. The positive meditative state brought about by self healing will encourage restoration of your physical body. Even when physical conditions exist, the positive thoughts brought about through meditation can lessen the real pain you feel - therapeutic effects are felt. This can help you cope much better with a physical medical condition which had previously impacted the quality of your life.

Self healing can also help you overcome addictions too, such as smoking or excessive reliance on alcohol. Whilst in a subconscious state, brought about by meditation, the mind leads you to follow a specific, and healthier, pattern. Self healing meditation stands out amongst stress relaxation techniques as one that can be used to treat many kinds of medical problems. These include back pain and hypertension, as well as stress related conditions.

If you can learn to combine the positive energy brought about by self healing meditation, with your own inner will to make improvements to your condition and circumstances, it certainly is more than possible to discover a whole new, and surprising, lease of life. With such a wide range of benefits, it is not surprising that self healing meditation is one of the most popular stress relaxation techniques today.

Being in the Void (During the Healing Process)

The Void is a very difficult place to be during the healing process. It is the place where you feel connected to nothing, where you don't know who you are anymore, where you can feel alone and confused. Sound familiar? This is a crucial time because it's very easy to want to run for cover behind old patterns and ways of being.

It doesn't usually last that long, but if you don't know what is going on, you will be scared. During this time, it is important to use all of your spiritual practices, whatever they may be. It is the time to pray, meditate, exercise, rest, read, journal, sleep, watch movies or whatever else keeps you on track.

When in the Void, it is important to shield your energy. You are very vulnerable right now. You are not connected to the old parts of you that may help protect you right now, and you are not yet fully rooted in the new parts of you where your confidence and strength will be present. You are like a snake shedding old skin while sitting out in the sun on a nice warm day... irritable, testy, and ready to lash out at anyone who crosses your path! The Void presents a wonderful time to retreat.

Know that whatever feelings may be coming up for you in the Void are old, so that is also why it can feel so disconcerting. You may think, why is this coming up? I thought I had already worked through this. This feels old to me. Yes, it is! So don't attach to those feelings or try to control them. Just allow them to release and give yourself as much loving kindness as possible. The less you resist, the quicker and smoother the transition.

Trust your own inner guidance as to what will help you during this time. Don't judge what you are feeling guided to do. You may be guided to try something that you never thought about trying before that will fill your soul with light and peace. Trust that you are being surrounded with love and support during these times. This too shall pass!

Keep visualizing that tension is lifting from your face. Continue and apply this exercise through your whole body, from tip to toe.
